Our umbrella/hub for coordinated pressure on the United States, Canada, & Europe to stop arming Israel—linking logistics choke‑points (e.g., Maersk) with grassroots, media, and diplomatic/parliamentary action.
WE DEMAND AN ARMS EMBARGO
The movement for Palestinian liberation is at a critical juncture, with a ceasefire moving forward and Israel more internationally isolated than it has ever been in history. As a movement, it is our responsibility to ensure that all genocide enablers are held to account, and to prevent Israel from rehabilitating its image. To prevent Israel from breaking the ceasefire terms and resuming all-out genocidal war, and to further isolate it as it continues to expand settlements, displace and imprison Palestinians, and wage war across the region, it is crucial that the pressure on Israel continues and that arms embargoes are fully enacted.
During the January 2025 ceasefire, we saw Israel replenish its weapon stores, enabling it to break the agreement in March 2025. That is why now, more than ever, a two-way arms embargo is extremely necessary– meaning no weapons flowing to Israel, or countries purchasing weapons from Israel.
pain has enforced an arms embargo, Italian dockworkers took it into their own hands to block Israeli weapons shipments, Moroccans in Tangier and Casablanca mobilized mass protests against ships carrying Israeli military cargo, Colombia ended coal shipments to Israel, and Oakland launched a campaign against the use of public infrastructure for the transport of military cargo. We have significantly pressured Maersk since the launch of the #MaskOffMaersk campaign, resulting in the loss of two ports and the end of its trade with settlements-- the first time a logistics company drops settlements in history.
An arms embargo IS possible. An arms embargo is a concrete, enforceable and necessary step to end the flow of weapons and weapons components used in Israel’s genocide on Gaza and continued occupation of Palestine. To effectively organize for a comprehensive, two-way arms embargo, we must bring together supply-chain pressure, union actions, legal and political pressure.
This campaign will serve as an umbrella to cohere arms embargo organizing, offer resources, research reports and campaign materials for organizations, etc.
Connecting Logistics → Diplomatic Pressure
Targeting Maersk and other carriers has exposed the live routes moving cargo used in the genocide. These routes, documented in the Canada and UK reports, have become leverage to put pressure on MPs, legal and human rights organizations to put pressure to stop the transport of weapons and weapons components and end complicity…..
